Mayor Meets Delegation from the Netherlands

Mayor Ko Wen-je met with a visiting Dutch delegation led by Mayor of Eindhoven Rob van Gijzel on January 19.
During the meeting, the two mayors exchanged views on development – especially those regarding the projects with Shezi Island and Guandu Plains.
Ko recalled the famous saying: “God created the sea, but the Dutch created the Land.” Noting how the city is able to learn from the experience of the European nation, he promised to contact them if Taipei needs assistance with technical knowledge in the future.
The representatives of Taipei City and Eindhoven have signed Memorandum of Understanding and Letter of Intent for Cooperation in the past.
Being his fourth visit to Taipei, Mayor van Gijzel expressed his willingness to strengthen working relationship with Taipei’s new administration and seek chance for cooperation in the future.
